Calaceit, officially named a town by Alfonso XIII in 1915 was declared a Historic and Artistic Monument for its beautiful buildings and the harmony of the town as a whole. Some of its more beautiful buildings are reproduced in the Pueblo Español in Barcelona |

The Baroque church, devoted to Saint Mary, was finished in 1710 and is built on the ruins of a gothic church dating from the latter part of the XIIIth Century. The corner stones of the ancient castle of Calaceit were used in the building of the old church. |

buildings in the main square, or Plaza Mayor, have arches dating
from the XIVth and XVth Centuries and bear witness to the town's
medieval legacy. |
